The prestigious Distillation & Absorption Conference, held only once every four years, took place in Salzburg this year. From 29 August to 2 September, experts from around the world came together against the stunning backdrop of this beautiful city to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in the fascinating fields of distillation and absorption.
A diverse programme of inspiring talks and poster presentations provided plenty of opportunities for scientific exchange, lively discussions, and networking — whether to establish new connections or strengthen long-standing ones.
One particularly striking observation was the strong focus on energy and resource efficiency, as well as on sustainability in a broader sense. More and more, the prevention and mitigation of human-induced environmental challenges is becoming a central research topic within the process sciences.
Our Thermal Process Engineering Group was strongly represented at the conference, contributing 4 presentations and 2 posters and actively taking part in the scientific exchange.
