A triumph of academic excellence: Dr. Benedikt Schultze, a graduate of the Institute of Insurance Science at the University of Ulm, has been honored with an impressive array of prestigious awards for his dissertation titled "Retirement Planning – An Analysis From Views of Clients and Insurance Companies." His work has not only been highly esteemed by the academic community but also by the industry.

Dr. Benedikt Schultze's dissertation delves into the multifaceted aspects of corporate and private retirement planning. At its core is the question of how retirement planning can be optimized to ensure an individual's retirement lifestyle remains both personalized and attractive. His innovative approach to a combined assessment methodology opens up new avenues in product design, aiming to achieve both high attractiveness and significant customer benefits.

The jury of the 2023 Geneva Association Ernst Meyer Prize, as well as the FPSB Science Prize 2023 from the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. Germany, were equally impressed by the depth and originality of Dr. Schultze's work. The FPSB Science Prize citation particularly emphasizes the remarkable academic contribution his dissertation makes in this vital field.

Dr. Benedikt Schultze completed his studies in Mathematical Economics in Ulm and additionally obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (USA) as part of the USA exchange program. His Ph.D. in Actuarial Science, supervised by Prof. Dr. An Chen at the Institute of Insurance Science, was successfully completed in October 2022. Since November 2022, he has been working as an actuary at Allianz.
