The (PhD)students and lecturers of the both universities had a good opportunity to present their work in talks or on the posters. The delegation from Padua was welcomed by Prof. Thomas Mertens, Educational Dean of the molecular medicine studies, and (doctoral) students of the Ulm University on Friday, July 11th. Right after the arrival in Blaubeuren the poster session followed by Mr. Mertens presentation promoted lively discussions.
On Saturday there were altogether 16 talks divided into four different sessions, which were led by one professor from Ulm and one professor from Padua retrospectivly. The sessions were: Oncology, Infectious Agents, Signal transduction and mechanism of disease and Developmental Biology.
This demandful scientific programm was supplanted by the visit to Blaubeuren monastery and „Blautopf“ as well as by the guided tour through the historical centre of Ulm. The day ended with a dinner at Zunfthaus and fireworks on the Danube festival.
