Materials and Fabrication Processes
We investigate fundamental material properties and study how these properties evolve during different fabrication and processing steps. Our goal is to optimize materials for future micro- and nanoscale applications.

Electronic, Optoelectronic, and Electromechanical Devices
We design, fabricate, and characterize functional devices for sensors, actuators, and electronic or optoelectronic systems.

Intelligent and Adaptive Sensing and Processing Systems
Based on these devices, we develop integrated systems that combine sensing, electronic control, and data processing. Machine learning and neural network methods are applied to enable efficient sensing and advanced information processing. A special focus of our research lies on bio-inspired and bionic approaches, translating functional principles from biological systems into technological applications.
