The Business Process Modeling, Design and Support (BPMDS) conference celebrated its 20th anniversary in Rome on June 2nd, 2019.
Two decades of research on BPMDS have created a multitude of influential research papers. In the context of BPMDS’19, therefore, a special anniversary session was devoted to invited talks by authors of the two most cited BPMDS papers that had been published during the last two decades. One of these best cited papers was co-authored by Manfred Reichert, Andreas Lanz (both DBIS) and Barbara Weber (University of St. Gallen, Switzerland) and dealt with workflow time patterns for process-aware information systems. The honored work was presented at the at BPMDS’10 conference in Hammamet, Tunisia.
In his invited BPMDS‘19 talk, Manfred Reichert gave insights into how DBIS research on workflow / process time patterns has evolved over the years and has led to a fundamental concepts, algorithms and tools enabling time-aware BPM systems. BPMDS 2019 took place at the Sapienza Università di Roma in Rome, Italy in conjunction with the CAiSE 2019 conference.
