We developed a room-temperature platform to explore many-body phenomena using an atomically thin layer of carbon nuclear spins inside diamond.

We developed a room-temperature platform to explore many-body phenomena using an atomically thin layer of carbon nuclear spins inside diamond. By combining diamond defects with radio-frequency control, we can manipulate and probe strongly interacting nuclear spins without the need for extreme cooling or ultra-high vacuum conditions.

We demonstrate tunable many-body interactions and investigate discrete time-crystalline order, highlighting a scalable and accessible platform for studying complex quantum systems.
