Personal Details:

At the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Alex is leading the corporate climate programme "Safe Operating Space 1.5" (SOS 1.5), a global, cross-value chain business platform facilitating collaboration to accelerate and unlock decarbonization solutions, to limit the earth’s temperate rise to 1.5°C. Alex holds 20 years of experience working across countries and industries on corporate sustainability. For the past 11 years, he worked at BMW Group, most recently as Head of Climate Strategy and ESG Standards. Alex also worked as a Director for SustainAbility in London, a global strategy consultancy and think tank, and as a research associate for IMD Lausanne. Alex completed a PhD in strategic management and holds a major in business administration and electrical engineering. He is a member of various sustainability organizations, including the German Association of the Club of Rome and the Responsible Leaders Network of the BMW Foundation.

Lehrveranstaltung: Nachhaltiges Strategisches Management

In der Veranstaltung lernen die Studierenden im ersten Teil die Erfolgsfaktoren und Herausforderungen für die Formulierung und Implementierung nachhaltiger Unternehmensstrategien kennen. Im zweiten Teil erarbeiten die Studierenden Nachhaltigkeitsstrategien für Unternehmen in verschiedenen Industrien. Im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung liegt die eigenständige Erarbeitung praxisrelevanter Inhalte durch die Interaktion mit Praktikern.
