Report of the President on the status of the research project register in accordance with Section 41a (3) sentence 2 of LHG

In accordance with Section 41a (3) sentence 2 of LHG, the President reports generally to the Senate every two years on the status of the research project register.


The view into the research project register and the information from the research project register is regulated in Section 41a (3) sentence 3, section 4 and section 5 of LHG.

  • Since 2014, 1.200 research projects with total amounts of around 45-55 million euros are recorded in the research project register.

Content of the report

1. Number of the recorded third-party founded research projects,
2. Total amount of third-party funding,
3. Research projects from public third-party funds
   a) Number of recorded research projects,
   b)Total amount of third-party funding,
4. Research projects from private third-party funds
   a) Number of recorded research projects,
   b) Total amount of third-party funding,
5.Information on confidentiality agreements
   a) Number of research projects for which corresponding agreements exist,
   b) Total amount of third-party funds allocated to these research projects as well as
6.) Information on publication restrictions
   a) Number of research projects for which such agreements exist,
   b) Total amount of third-party funds allocated to these research projects.

The Report of the President to the Senate on the status of the research project register with the following data in accordance with the Section 41a (3) sentence 2 of LHG was prepared from the data of the financial system of the university and of the university hospital (Information from March 2021/December 2022), as well as from the feedback of the five data fields send by the research project managers concerned and the declarations of research projects. The Report was presented to the Senate at its meeting on June 23, 2021/October 18, 2023.

As part of the HISinOne campus management project, a Research information system is being tackled, also including the topic of electronic notification of third-party funding, in order to further improve the data quality in the future through process-oriented data collection and to minimize the effort of the research project managers.
