Mechatronics Technician

What does the training programme offer you?

During your training, you will primarily learn skills in metalworking and electrical engineering. However, the curriculum for prospective mechatronics engineers also includes the basics of control technology, hydraulics, pneumatics, measurement and testing procedures, and programming skills. The practical training takes place in the workshops at Oberer Eselsberg in Department V and at the technical facilities required for operation, research and teaching at the university. These facilities are all operated and maintained by our technical staff and monitored using state-of-the-art control technology. The entire practice-oriented training programme takes place in this environment. You will acquire the basic theoretical knowledge at the vocational school in Ehingen.

What makes training at the university so special?

With us, you will not only learn the basics of the profession, but also see something new every day. We operate one of the most extensive building services engineering systems in the Ulm area, covering over 200,000 square metres. During your training, you will not only work in various technical departments at the university, but also carry out maintenance and repair work independently, plan smaller projects, program controls for building and operating technology, and take on tasks in the area of building technology monitoring. There's never a dull moment!
