Studying with family responsibilities
The Zentrale Studienberatung (central student advisory services) is the first point of contact for students with family responsibilities. https://www.uni-ulm.de/en/studium/studienberatung/beratung-fuer-studierende-mit-familienpflichten/
The Studierendenwerk (student services) offers information on living with a child, financial assistance and childcare.
The Family Service is the place to go to if, for example, you have questions about the children's holiday programmes, day care places for children of doctoral candidates and the babysitter list.
The Gleichstellungsreferat (equal opportunities unit) of the student representative body (StuVe) is contact point for all questions concerning equal treatment of the various groups of students at Ulm University, with a special focus on students facing additional burdens.
The course advisors are contact point for all predominantly subject-specific questions. They can help you plan your studies and answer specific questions related to your programme of studies.

Children are most welcome!
The canteens are a family-friendly environment: if you let us know in advance, we are happy to reserve a family table for you. We have high chairs in Ulm for the little ones and toys at the pay points. The Studierendenwerk (student services) is happy to heat up your BYO baby food in the Mensa and in the cafeterias. Ulm University has a nappy changing room underneath the Mensa.
Students’ children up to the age of 10 years receive free meals in the Studierendenwerk canteens.
