General Remarks

The course covers the most important subjects of microeconomic theory and lays the foundation for other courses in the majors Economics and Finance.

The course starts with an advanced survey of consumer, producer and partial equilibrium theory. The course is aimed at students with basic knowledge in microeconomic theory, though this knowledge is not mandatory. In the second part we’ll discuss more advanced topics, like general equilibrium in production, game theory of perfect and imperfect information, problems of moral hazard or adverse selection.

This course is only open for master and diploma students. Lecture and exercise will be held in English.
