Prof. Holger Barth in action

Sensational days for Prof. Holger Barth from the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Together with Prof. Matthias Schwab from the Fischer-Bosch Institute of ClinicaI Pharmacology in Stuttgart, our PI chairs the 4th German Pharm-Tox Summit from February 25-28th in Stuttgart.

The German Pharm-Tox Summit is among the largest European conferences for experimental and clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. It is jointly hosted by three scientific societies: The German Society for Experimental und Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology (DGPT); the Association of Clinical Pharmacology (VKliPha) and the Association for Applied Human Pharmacology (AGAH). Thus, the conference simultaneously represents the Annual Meeting of DGPT.  The meeting aims to discuss hot topics in pharmacology and toxicology, like for example the current boom in e-cigarettes. It is a brilliant opportunity for scientists to connect with colleagues of from different disciplines and institutions. Besides numerous international academic researchers, the list of speakers comprises representatives from academia, industry, publishing houses as well as public institutions such as the Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung (BfR).

On Monday 25th, conference chair Holger Barth gave an interview for the regional television. He commented on potential health risks of e-cigarettes. Moreover, during the conference, he has been re-elected president of the German Toxicology Society (GT) for a term of three years, beginning in January 2020.
