CRC1279 Students went to Lindenberg
At the feet of the Bavarian Alps and right outside the town of Lindenberg in the Allgäu, the first CRC 1279 student retreat took place on May 16th-17th. During these two days, about 40 PhD students and Postdocs had the chance to discuss and exchange ideas about their projects during a fruitful «Scientific Speed Dating» session and to engage in constructive discussions at their posters. In addition, the participants enjoyed lectures held by two invited experts covering many fields, ranging from autophagy to computational modelling, from peptide purification and characterization techniques to insights into electron microscopy. Finally, the social evening and group activities proved to be excellent ways to balance Science with entertainment. Overall, this first CRC retreat organized by students for students further strengthened the existing network and stimulated the participants to meet, collaborate and exchange ideas in the future.
