Our Faculty

Technical scientific progress worldwide is characterised by innovations in the fields of Engineering, Computer Science and Psychology. A trend towards increasingly complex adaptive systems is clearly visible, in which the traditional division into hardware and software components is becoming blurred. In addition, the software systems used are becoming increasingly complex, which requires improved methods and processes for their design, realisation and functional verification as well as ever more efficient algorithms.

New hardware components to be realised for such systems must become more powerful and implement new functions, but must also be increasingly energy-efficient, especially for use in mobile systems.

Another essential and increasingly reinforced aspect of research is the usability and functional transparency of technical systems for humans. By establishing the subject of Psychology in the Faculty with a clear research focus on human-machine interaction, pioneering research in direct collaboration between scientists from the Faculties of Engineering, Computer Science and Psychology will be carried out in addition to the "classic" psychological disciplines.
