Dr. Andreas Obermeier

Andreas Obermeier is a post-doctoral researcher at the Péter Horváth Endowed Chair of Business Administration with a focus on Business Information Management at the Institute of Business Analytics at Ulm University. His research interests lie in particular in the areas of data-value-oriented measurement of data quality and data-driven decision-making using analytics and AI. You also find detailed information on the personal homepage of Andreas Obermeier.

Vita

Andreas Obermeier, born in 1991 in Landau an der Isar (Bavaria), completed his bachelor's and master's degrees in econophysics at the University of Ulm (2010-2016).

From September 2016 to November 2022, Andreas worked as a research assistant at the Péter Horváth Endowed Chair of Business Administration with a focus on Business Information Management at the University of Ulm. In November 2022, he completed his PhD on the topic of "Big Data (Quality) Analytics - Contributions to the Assessment of Data Quality and Data-Driven Decision-Making ". The paper "Event-Driven Duplicate Detection: A Probability-Based Approach" included in his dissertation was awarded the Claudio Ciborra Award for the most innovative research paper at the 26th European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) in 2018. Since November 2022, Andreas has been a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute for Business Analytics at the University of Ulm. As such, he leads the research group in the area of data quality, among others.
