1. Download this tar.gz-file.

2. Unpack the tar.gz file.

3. Change directory to backwardMEM/sdsl-0.7.3/  and execute "make"

4. Change directory to sparseMEM/ directory and execute 'make'

4. Change directory to backwardMEM and execute 'make'

The last 'make' will produce the executable backwardMEM.

Execute ./backwardMEM -h to get information about the usage.
