KZ02 - Liposomes as bio-vesicles for improving T cell responses in human tuberculosis

Control of tuberculosis requires the development of novel vaccine strategies. The key issue is the identification of antigens that trigger protective immune responses in humans. Aim of this project is to optimize the delivery of available mycobacterial lipid antigens into macrophages by liposomes. Pharmaceutical, biochemical and immunological techniques will be applied. The project is integrated into a European network of 14 countries dedicated to the design of new vaccines against tuberculosis.
