Language tests (DAAD, DFA, etc.)

The Centre for Languages and Philology offers you the opportunity to sit language tests required for clinical placements, semesters abroad, exchange programmes, etc. (DAAD, DFA, etc., but not TOEFL, DSH or similar). Please contact the relevant head of the language department – who will be examining you in the relevant language – in good time to arrange an appointment.

Language Test Fees

According to the current schedule of fees, the University of Ulm charges a fee of €20 for such language tests. Please use the following bank details and reference when making your payment:

TOEFL / TSE / TWE

TOEFL = Test of English as a Foreign Language
TWE = Test of Written English
TSE = Test of Spoken English

The TOEFL test is computer-based and can now only be taken in Germany in the cities of Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.

DSH

The University of Ulm no longer offers the DSH examination. The German Language Examination for University Admission of Foreign Applicants (DSH) certifies that a candidate has sufficient knowledge of the German language to be admitted to study at a German university.
