DBISFactory - The factory simulation

Project Description

Based on a construction kit by fischertechnik we illustrate production processes. This set consists of four stations: (1) A conveyor belt in connection with color recognition allows sorting different input items. (2) It is possible to simulate to process step heating in a second station and move the item with a (3) vacuum gripper arm into a (4) high-bay warehouse.

The aim of this project is to prepare the construction kit to be used in teaching and to evaluate process management technics and data mining algorithms based on the hardware.

Related topics are embedded programming, sensor data analytics, and mobile processes. The factory is controlled via a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
