Digital skills as a prerequisite for a successful career

The digital transformation in society and the economy is fundamentally changing how we learn, work and communicate. Social participation and career opportunities already depend to a large extent on digital literacy, i.e. the ability to confidently deal with new technologies and the exponentially growing range of data, information and interaction opportunities. It is alarming that school children in Germany have at best mediocre digital skills that do not always meet the requirements. This is partly due to the lack of digital equipment in schools. However, experts agree that Germany urgently needs to catch up with regard to teaching digital skills in schools.

At the Institute of Business Analytics we develop innovative approaches based on concepts such as gamification and digital nudging, which enable teachers without special digital knowledge to teach students the most important digital skills for their future careers in attractive and efficient online and classroom formats.
