The IoT - Business Model Evolution research project aims to enable SMEs of the injection moulding industry to develop and use platform-based business models. Research is thus being done on the development of a validated roadmapping procedure for the evaluation of different business model alternatives as well as on the necessary steps for the implementation of IoT platform-based business models.

Funding body: The IGF project 20664 BG "IoT-Business Model Evolution - Development of a stage-oriented IoT strategy for the injection moulding industry to build interoperable platform ecosystems" of the Institut für Energie- und Umwelttechnik e.V. - IUTA (research association institute of energy and environmental technology) is funded through the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations (AiF) via the programme to promote joint industrial research (IGF) of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) based on a decision by the German Bundestag.
