Mathematical Modeling of Lithium Ion Batteries

Part of the BMBF Project LISA
Collaboration with Theoretical Electrochemistry Group (PD Dr. Timo Jacob), Institute of Electrochemistry, Ulm University.

  • Free energy functional based derivation of transport equation systems
  • Kinetic studies - boundary conditions
  • Ion transport in solid electrolytes
  • Potential and concentration distribution at electrode/electrolyte interfaces
  • Influence studies of the space charge layer 
  • Full Cell Simulation of discharge 
  • Impedance spectroscopy simulations based on PDEs (no equivalent circuit!)

 

Schwarz-Christoffel in multiply connected domains and applications for the Laplace equation

  • Numerical evaluation of the multiply connected SC Map
  • Fast computation of the required parameters in Matlab
  • Path Integral computation with graph theoretical methods

2-D parallelized FEM with MPI in C++

  • Mesh generation and red refinement
  • Assembling stiffness matrix and distribute to clients
  • Solving via MPI paralleled CG Method
  • Code on request ...
