Information on reporting benefits in kind – LBV:

The Income Tax Act was amended on 1 January 2019. Under the new rules, health courses under the Workplace Health Management scheme, like all other employer benefits provided in addition to wages, are subject to the tax-free allowance of €50 per person per month. The benefit in kind, i.e. the university’s contribution to the health course, remains tax-free if, together with any other benefits in kind, it does not exceed the exemption limit of €50 per month; otherwise, it must be included in the payslip.

For the purposes of taxation and, where applicable, social security contributions, the benefits in kind must therefore be reported to the Baden-Württemberg State Office for Salaries and Pensions (LBV). The benefit in kind is paid to participants from the start of the first course session. The exact amount of the benefits in kind depends on the number of participants and the total cost of the course.
