The corona pandemic poses a great challenge to all members of the University.

Especially those with family care responsibilities are facing an extreme double burden. Tasks in research and teaching, additional responsibilities resulting from the care and support of children and family members in need of care, personal burdens as well as technical and other challenges are all putting increasing pressure on everyday life both on a professional and private level.

Female researchers in particular are more and more concerned that they will not be able to meet the performance requirements compared to people without care responsibilities, resulting in disadvantages with regard to their academic career.

We are here to help you with your personal concerns, take them on board and make every effort to find solutions and obviate disadvantages by networking closely both within and outside our University.

Help for victims of violence

Limited options to leave the house, health concerns, existential fears and family life being confined to a small space for long periods of time: In view of the corona crisis, experts fear an increase in cases of domestic violence. This makes it all the more important for support structures to really work – the main one being the helpline Gewalt gegen Frauen (violence against women): +49 8000-116 016.

The City of Ulm also offers the Familientelefon (family helpline) +49170 71 00 666; familientelefon(at)awo-ulm.de 24/7 for parents and students in need.
