Dr. Manfred Sauter

Ich bin Akademischer Mitarbeiter in Festanstellung an der Universität Ulm. Meine Promotion habe ich 2013 an der University of Auckland (Neuseeland) abgeschlossen.

An der Universität Ulm habe ich seit WS 2013/2014 diverse Veranstaltungen betreut. Ich war mehrfach Dozent für die Vorlesung Applied Analysis im internationalen Masterprogramm Finance und habe im WS 2015/2016 die von mir konzipierte Spezialvorlesung Geometrische Analysis gelesen. Von Dezember 2016 bis Oktober 2019 habe ich im Rahmen des Projekts PASST! in Zusammenarbeit mit Frau Prof. Dr. Irene Bouw und Herrn Manuel Bernhard neue Lehrkonzepte für die Studieneingangsphase in den mathematischen Studiengängen an der Universität Ulm entwickelt und umgesetzt. Teil davon ist unser sehr erfolgreiches Tutoriumsformat der Kolloquien für die mathematischen Einführungsveranstaltungen, wofür wir 2017 mit dem Lehrbonus ausgezeichnet wurden.

Seit Dezember 2016 bin ich verantwortlich für die Erstellung der Stundenpläne der mathematischen Studiengänge, und seit April 2019 co-organisiere ich das USA-Programm der Fakultät. Ich lese aktuell hauptsächlich mathematische Grundlagenvorlesungen für die Studiengänge der Mathematik, Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Informatik, Physik und Ingenieurwissenschaften.

Meine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind das Studium elliptischer Probleme auf irregulären Gebieten und das Zusammenspiel von Spektraltheorie und inversen Problemen. Derzeit arbeite ich im Rahmen meines Habilitionsvorhabens an einer Reihe von Veröffentlichungen zu einem auf Approximation basierenden Spurbegriff für Sobolevfunktionen auf irregulären Gebieten.
