⚠️ Beware of travel scams! ⚠️
We got noticed about Emails from certain "travel agencies". Those are scams, and are not related to the workshop!

Transportation
The university is easily accessible by public transportation from any part of Ulm. The two closest stops to the university are Universität Süd (near the canteen) and Botanischer Garten (near the lecture halls). Public transport in Ulm/Neu-Ulm (DING) is frequent and reliable.
There are also good smartphone apps that cover public transport in Ulm: the official DING app and the Öffi app (only Android).
If you plan to use the bus at least twice a day over five days, it is advisable to purchase a weekly ticket for €28,80 from one of the ticket machines or at the central train station sales point. Tram number 2 also stops at the Central Station between the previously mentioned stops.

The University can also be reached by car.
The only public parking facility is the Parkhaus Helmholtzstraße, located at Helmholtzstraße 5, 89075 Ulm.
Parking for one day costs €5. Taxis can be easily identified by the yellow “taxi” signs on their roofs. You can request a taxi by calling ULM-TAXI at +49 731 66066. A taxi ride from the Central Station to the University typically costs around €20.
Hotels in Ulm
We have compiled a list of hotels that may be of interest to you.
In terms of lodging, Ulm offers a plethora of hotels. However, as the university is situated on a hill that is isolated from the city centre, it is necessary to take a bus or tram to access it.
These are the hotels that we highly recommend are:

The options that are closest to the primary train station are as follows:
- ibis Ulm City Hotel →Next to line 2 and close to the centre.
- ibis budget Ulm City → Next to ibis Ulm
- Centro Hotel Stern → Convenient location, close to city center and line 2.
- Hotel Garni Lehrertal → Basic and not that close to the centre any more, but close to line 2.
There is many more good options that we don't list here. Also Hotels in Neu-Ulm can be suitable, depending on location.
Airports and travel
In case you travel by plane, there are several suitable airports in a comfortable distance to Ulm: Stuttgart (STA), Munich (MUC), Memmingen (FMM) or Frankfurt (FRA). While Frankfurt is the biggest of the airports, it is also the one furtherst from Ulm.
