Fulbright Germany supports students who arrange and (partly) finance a study abroad period in the USA through a university partnership program.
Application deadline: December 8, 2026, 2:00 p.m.
Eligibility: Students planning to study full-time (full-time student status) for at least three months at a U.S. partner university, starting in August/September 2027 or January 2028.
Funding:
- Lump-sum travel allowance: €2,000
- Participation in the German Programs Orientation Days (Fulbright Berlin Enrichment Seminar, April 22-25, 2027, Berlin)
- Program preparation and support
- Admission to the Fulbright Germany network of grantees and alumni
Application via the Fulbright online portal:
- Application form, including the name of the person responsible at the International Office
- Upload: CV (in English), higher education entrance qualification, transcript of records from the examination office showing the grade point average, and for Master’s students, the Bachelor’s degree certificate
- One portal link each to a university lecturer with a doctorate (academic performance) and to a person who can provide information on voluntary work
Selection: The International Office nominates five applicants by January 27, 2027. Fulbright Germany makes the final selection. Results will follow from March 2027.
