Training opportunities for staff

Erasmus+ supports training periods for staff working in higher education institutions, both in teaching and non-teaching capacities. Erasmus+ supports training both at higher education institutions and at relevant organisations operating outside the sector. Interested staff may apply to their home institution for grants.

Training periods abroad can consist of job shadowing, observation periods, professional development courses or specific competence-building events. The minimum duration is two consecutive days of training.

Job Shadowing @ Ulm University

The International Office will assist staff from our Erasmus+ partner universities in organizing a job shadowing at Ulm University. Likewise, we support staff from our SEMP partners and from our YERUN partners.

Applicants should have good command of either English or German (minimum level B2). The application should be accompanied by an official certificate, which may be issued by the language center of the home institution, or prove the result of any standardized test.

Applicants should allow up to 5 weeks for processing the application, as the International Office cannot simply grant acceptance. Instead, we need to make inquiries with different departments to see if they agree to host an applicant, for how long, and during which time window. Applicants are asked to indicate at least three possible time windows and be flexible with respect to the final date and duration of the mobility, if it can be arranged and approved. Normally, individual staff trainings (job shadowing) can be offered for only 2-3 days.
