The chip card
- All important information regarding the chip card can be found here
- Find your way around the university (only in German)
Important Information
- Identification: for authentification; library identification; needed to enter the PC pools
- Pay method: needed for printing, for the cafeteria and coffee machines, for parking
- In the beginning of each semester you have to extend the validity of your chip card, otherwise it will expire
- Where?: SB-Terminals at the University (Locations: Uni West Library, Uni East Entrances South and North)
- Through these machines you can extend the validity (Important: You need your PIN to log in)
- If you forgot your PIN:
- Login to the Kiz-Portal with your Kiz account (just like Moodle):
- https://portal.uni-ulm.de/PortalWI/index.html
- Click on Personal Area („persönlicher Bereich“)
- Then on the right under Services („Dienste“) click on chip card data & PIN („Chipkartendatenspiegel & Pin“)
- Here you can now generate a new PIN

- How can you check if your chip card is still valid?
- On your chip card you can find the expiration date
- For this, there are also machines:
- Uni West: Library, Cafeteria West
- Uni East: Cafeteria South, Cafeteria North, Entrance South (near the Mensa), Cafeteria Helmholzstraße 16
- Either a bank card or cash can be used
- Money for parking also has to be transferred onto the chip card
