Project Human-AI Interaction, summer term 2026
Description
Students are able to plan, carry out and, if necessary, evaluate a project-oriented scientific work in the field of Human-AI Interaction in detail. Human-AI Interaction refers in particular to scientific questions in the areas of AI-based analysis of user-related data, adaptive and learning intelligent interactive systems, the use of generative AI in human-computer interaction, and interactions and visualizations to support the explainability of AI. Students have the ability to define an innovative project topic and familiarize themselves with the associated concepts and technologies. They are able to research related work independently and pick up on it if necessary. Students are also able to find new solutions and concepts for the realization of the project topic independently in a team and using modern methods. They are also able to document their results appropriately and present them convincingly in presentations.
Modalities
A project from the field of Human-AI Interaction is first designed theoretically, taking into account existing work, and then the practical realization is planned in detail with the help of the user-centered design process, implemented and, if necessary, evaluated. The projects are implemented in small groups of 3 to 4 students. The participants first receive an introduction to project work. They will then work independently in small teams with the help of the lecturer to develop a worthwhile project topic from the field of Human-AI Interaction and plan an appropriate implementation, taking into account existing work. This work will be documented in a written project proposal. The following steps are planned: Topic identification, literature research, concept design, planning of user evaluation if necessary, evaluation of potential AI basis technologies, independent development of technical basics, architecture design, practical realization (implementation) and evaluation if necessary. Furthermore, the project must be presented, demonstrated and documented.
