Step 1: Registration in the campus portal of Ulm University
You register online in the campus portal.
After self-registration, you will receive an e-mail with the activation code and a request to confirm your personal account in the campus portal of Ulm University.
Step 2: Application in the campus portal of Ulm University
You submit your application in the campus portal and upload the required documents.
You must upload all documents by the last day of the application period. Certificates that the applicant has not yet received by the end of the application period (and only those) can be submitted late, i.e. by 15 September for winter semester applications and 15 March for summer semester applications.
When submitting your application via the Campus Portal of Ulm University, you must upload the following documents:
• applicants with German educational qualifications: copy of your higher education entrance qualification
• applicants with foreign educational qualifications: copy of the original final secondary education certificate plus German or English translation; proof of sufficient German skills (e.g., DSH-2, TestDaF 4x4, telc Deutsch C 1 higher education, higher education entrance assessment examination). Germans with foreign education certificates also need a certificate of recognition issued by the competent office for the recognition of education certificates (Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle)
• Proof of required language proficiency
• Proof of creditable achievements for entrance to a higher semester in the programme: previous study and examination achievements/transcript of records with details of the ECTS or credit points, as well as a description of the modules completed (module handbook)
• letter of admission issued by Hochschulstart or the higher education institution
• current certificate of enrolment stating the degree programme and number of semesters in the programme
• in case of a higher education degree from China, Vietnam or India: APS certificate or APS confirmation
• Applicants changing their study location: If applicable, proof of social criteria (severely disabled ID card, certificate of residence together with the child, parent of spouse to be taken care of, applicants with dependence on study location in the interest of the public) together with a detailed explanation, also why they are dependent on Ulm as their study location.
You must upload all documents by the last day of the application period. Please note:
• Where such proof and documents to be submitted are not in German or English, an additional official translation into German or English is required.
• Application documents in paper form, by fax or by e-mail will not be accepted.
• A document issued in a different name must be supplemented by documentary evidence of the change of name.
• Further evidence may be required when submitting your application.
Places are allocated according to applicant groups in the following order:
Within the applicant groups, places are ranked according to study and examination achievements. Only in the case of applicants who change university or interrupt their studies will 50% of the places be allocated on the basis of study and examination results (ranking list), otherwise according to social criteria.
1) Note for applicants wishing to join a higher semester of the B.Sc. in Psychology who are not transferring from a professionally recognised bachelor's degree programme in psychology at a university or equivalent higher education institution: If, following your bachelor’s degree, you intend to pursue a master’s degree in clinical psychology and psychotherapy and sit the state psychotherapy examination in accordance with the new version of the Psychotherapist Act (PsychThG), your bachelor's degree will be assessed by the relevant university as part of the admission process for the clinical master's programme and subsequently, as part of the admission process for the psychotherapy examination, by the competent authority (usually the state examination office for health professions) of the federal state in which the master's university is located. Ultimately, it is the relevant state examination office that decides whether your bachelor’s degree meets the professional requirements of the PsychThApprO and the PsychThG and is therefore ‘in compliance with the licensing requirements’, and only this decision is legally binding. Some state examination offices in other federal states do not accept recognised study and examination achievements that were not obtained within a professionally recognised bachelor's degree programme in psychology at a university or equivalent higher education institution. This means that, in some federal states, if you transfer to a university at a later stage of your degree, you will not be able to enrol on a clinical master’s programme or obtain a licence to practise medicine. To the best of our knowledge, Baden-Württemberg is not affected by this; however, we cannot make any definitive statements regarding the future. Please bear this in mind when deciding whether or not to apply for a higher semester in the BSc in Psychology.
