Graduation ceremony on Münsterplatz – Goodbye to 800 graduates from Ulm University

Emotional graduates, proud parents and a party lasting late into the night: for the third time, the academic graduation ceremony took place against the backdrop of Ulm Minster. Around 3,000 guests, including 800 graduates from all faculties, celebrated together in a festive atmosphere. The theme of the evening: ‘Shaping the world with curiosity and passion.’

They have discovered a wonderful new city, forged friendships for life and spent their time not only studying but also at their favourite pub: at the Ulm University graduation ceremony, which kicked off the ‘Schwörwochenende’, the graduates spoke about how the city and the University had shaped them. After a brief rain shower, the procession of festively dressed young people began, as the last raindrops – and the odd tear from the proud graduates and their relatives – dried up.
The spectacular hat-throwing against the backdrop of the Ulm Minster provided the grand finale, before the celebrants took over Münsterplatz for the ‘Schwör mal!’ party.
