Coming together in the heart of the city
Second academic graduation ceremony at Ulm University

Ulm University

After last year's successful premiere, Ulm University is once again celebrating its Academic Graduation Ceremony together with the citizens of Ulm on the Münsterplatz. At the event on Friday afternoon, 18 July, the graduates of the academic year will be officially bid farewell. The subsequent “Schwör mal!” party with well-known music acts kicks off the “Schwör weekend”. Tickets are available online!

At the Academic Graduation Ceremony from 3.00 pm (admission 1.30 pm), the graduates of the past year will be celebrated and bid farewell in style. Graduates of Ulm University's Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes and doctoral students as well as all relatives and interested Ulm residents are invited.

The ceremony will be opened by University President Professor Michael Weber and Martin Ansbacher, Lord Mayor of the City of Ulm. In addition to a round table discussion with students, voices of graduates will provide an insight into studying at Ulm University.

As a special gesture of solidarity between the city and the University, the Ulm Fischerstecher will be holding a parade before their traditional Fischerstechen on the Danube. The celebration will be accompanied by music from a specially assembled project choir with members of the university choir and teaching staff. For the grand finale, the graduates will once again throw their hats into the air and create an impressive and hopefully unforgettable picture against the backdrop of Ulm Minster. The graduation ceremony will be hosted by communications expert Natasha Walker and Dominik Schmid, a graduate of the Sustainable Management Master's programme in Ulm.

Afterwards, there will be time for congratulations and felicitations, as well as souvenir photos with friends and family under the highest church tower in the world at the get-together. The "Schwör mal!" party at 7.00 pm starts with live music for all graduation participants and party guests. On stage will be local DJ Chris Montana, Austrian singer-songwriter Jacob Elias and pop duo Glasperlenspiel, known for hits such as "Geiles Leben" and "Echt". At the same time, guests celebrate the start of the weekend in the heart of the city, which culminates with oath monday (Schwörmontag), Ulm's "city holiday".

Tickets are valid for the ceremony and party and are now available online for 15 euros:
