Career perspectives

The standard degree in psychology is the master's degree; therefore, full professional qualification requires the completion of the master's programme.
The possible professional fields for graduates of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy are very diverse. A few are named below:

  • Clinical psychology, e.g. clinical-psychological diagnostics, counselling and support for health promotion and prevention measures, expert opinions
  • Further and continuing education within the framework of the PsychThG (psychotherapists’ act), e.g. specialist knowledge in behavioural therapy/depth psychology as a psychological psychotherapist or child and adolescent psychotherapist.
  • Doctoral studies and scientific activities, e.g. psychotherapy research, teaching and research activities.
  • Neuropsychology, e.g. neuropsychological diagnostics, counselling and support, neuropsychological research activities
