Emotional graduation ceremony on Münsterplatz 
Ulm University bids farewell to 800 graduates

An entertaining stage show, a serenade by professors, a guest performance by the Fischertänze dance group and, of course, the traditional hat-throwing ceremony against a dream backdrop in perfect summer weather: This was the second edition of the University of Ulm's academic graduation ceremony on Münsterplatz, which was attended by almost 4,000 people on Friday, 18 July, including around 800 graduates. They celebrated exuberantly with their families and friends until late into the evening.

There were emotional moments under the world's tallest church tower when around 800 young people in festive attire, with turquoise sashes around their shoulders and black hats on their heads, entered Münsterplatz. Whether bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees: they all had their degrees in their pockets and had come together to celebrate. Following last year's premiere, Ulm University hosted its second academic graduation ceremony, at which all graduates were bid farewell together. The theme was "Shaping the world with curiosity and passion" and once again marked the start of Ulm's Schwörwochenende (Oath Weekend).
