19-20 March 2020
We regret to inform you that we had to cancel this year’s German Pre-CHI Event due to the recent developments related to COVID-19.
We want to thank you for your great interest in this event and are overwhelmed by your enthusiastic responses. We expected around 65 attendees, 23 paper presentations, poster & demo presentations and a very lively event.
We are positive that the tradition of German Pre-CHI Events should be kept alive despite this unfortunate turn of events. We would have been very pleased to welcome you all as our guests here in Günzburg/Ulm. We will keep in touch with the community about further developments, e.g., whether the event might be rescheduled later this year. We are very sorry for all the effort you put into event. Of course, the invoices do not have to be paid, and we also have instructed the University administration to refund any amounts already transferred.
This decision was not taken lightly. As most of you surely have noticed, we are currently in a highly dynamic situation with regard to the spread of COVID-19. We have followed the developments closely and assessed the health guidelines of the local authorities, Robert Koch Institute and our University on a daily basis. All universities in Baden-Württemberg agreed on 10 immediate measures against the spread of the corona virus. One of those measures is the cancelling of all events, conferences and symposiums with external guests. Therefore, we had to cancel the German Pre-CHI 2020 as well.
We thank you for your understanding. We tried to keep the event alive until the very last moment, but in light of the latest developments we had to cancel the event.
