This message is relevant to you if you use the Ulm University Zoom service and your computer is NOT managed by kiz. If you are already using the latest version of the client (>= 7.0.5), do not use the Workplace Client at all, or use a computer managed by kiz (e.g., in the ZUV department) , you can ignore the rest of this message.
Virtually all older Zoom Workplace Clients have multiple security issues. We will therefore administratively block the use of older versions on Monday, June 15, 2026. You will then need the following minimum client versions:
• Windows Client Version ≥ 7.0.5
• Linux Client Version ≥ 7.0.5
• macOS Client Version ≥ 7.0.5
• iOS Client Version ≥ 7.0.5
• Android Client Version ≥ 7.0.5
How do I check the version number of my Zoom Workplace client?
- Launch your Zoom Workplace client.
- Click on your profile picture in the top right corner, then <help> / <About Zoom>
(if you don’t have a profile picture, you will likely see your initials there)
How do I perform the update?
- Launch your Zoom Workplace client.
- Click on your profile picture in the top right corner, then <Check for Updates>
(if you don’t have a profile picture, you’ll likely see your initials there)
If you manage your own computer, you can configure your Zoom client for automatic updates: blog.zoom.us/get-automatic-updates-in-the-zoom-client/
