Information on EU projects

Under the current EU research framework programme, Horizon Europe, research data management and open science are integral parts of the funding conditions. Research data should be managed in accordance with the FAIR principles and – where possible – made openly accessible.

Data Management Plan

A data management plan is mandatory for projects that generate or reuse research data. It is usually submitted no later than six months after the start of the project and updated as necessary during the course of the project.

Open Access for research data

Research data should, as a general rule, be made openly accessible, provided there are no legal, ethical, security-related or economic reasons to the contrary. The following principle continues to apply:

‘as open as possible, as closed as necessary’
