Landline
kiz operates a telephone system on behalf of the Ulm University. At selected locations, the building’s IP infrastructure is used to provide telephone connections instead of traditional 2-wire cabling. The decision as to which locations these are is made by the building owner.
Each member of staff is provided with an ALE-30h handset free of charge as part of the basic service. The use of other handsets for voice calls (particularly private handsets) is generally not permitted on the University’s telephone network. Please refer to the guidance on the Ministry of Finance’s regulations governing the provision and use of telecommunications services.
In the University East area, telecommunications connections have been set up for events and can be activated as required (conference connections: more).
Application modalities
Employees of Ulm University:
For the required telephone and fax connections, an online form for setting up a new connection must be filled in. The connection type is made by kiz in the correct shape depending on the cabling type of the building.
Fee
Landline TDM (2-wire)
The basic care includes a telephone Alcatel ALE-30h free of charge for each employee. The telephone charges used are offset down by the quarterly fee billing of the respective cost center. In case of wantonly damaged telephones, the repair price will be charged.
VoIP (Voice over IP)
The basic care includes an Alcatel ALE-30h IP telephone free of charge for each employee. The telephone charges used are offset down by the quarterly fee billing of the respective cost center. In case of wantonly damaged telephones, the repair price will be charged.
