What does the writing and publication consultation involve – and what does it not?
In our consultation services, we do not offer ready-made solutions. We discuss the issues together and, within the meaning of sustainability, see our consultancy as ‘helping people to help themselves’.
For example, we can support you with questions regarding:
- Organising your writing / time management
- Identifying and narrowing down topics
- Developing a research question
- Motivation / creativity techniques to get started with writing and keep writing
- Outline and structure
- Dealing with writer’s block
- Revision
- Reference management
- Citation, copyright & good scientific practice
With regard to publications, we also offer advice on:
- Predatory journals
- CC licences
- Reuse of your own articles (e.g. in doctoral theses, PhD theses)
What we do not offer:
If you approach us with a specific writing project, we will provide feedback based on a 3–5-page extract from your text, but we do
- no editing service
- no (e.g. grammatical) corrections
- no feedback on content
- no subject-specific advice – we offer only interdisciplinary advice
However, you are also welcome to come for a consultation even if you have not yet written a text.
