OPARU (Institutional repository)

OPARU is the open access repository of Ulm University and Ulm University of Applied Sciences and is available to members and affiliates of both institutions. At the same time, OPARU represents the university/university of applied sciences bibliography.
You can use OPARU for:
- First and second publications of publications and research data that are to be made publicly accessible via the Internet and indexed worldwide, e.g. in Google Scholar, library catalogs, BASE.
- Entry of only the metadata of publications that cannot/should not be made available with full text/files.
- Entry of publications produced at other scientific institutions in order to fully map publication lists in OPARU.
OPARU is centrally administered/managed and technically operated by the kiz of the University of Ulm. OPARU is a joint service facility of Ulm University and Ulm University of Applied Sciences.

Publication platform

- Display of copyright regulations from publishers and journals during upload (via ISSN query)
- Automatic completion of the mandatory submission to the German National Library
- Provision of metadata for subsequent use by various systems (e.g. WinIBW cataloging software, EU portal OpenAIRE)
- OpenAIRE-compliant: Publications are automatically indexed in OpenAIRE and, if the project is specified in OPARU (FP7, Horizon 2020), assigned to the project in OpenAIRE and listed in CORDIS and the Participant Portal.
- Automated import of secondary publications within the framework of DeepGreen
- Workflow for secondary publications under free/open licenses by the kiz

Application modalities
An account in OPARU is required to register publications (with/without file upload). Users with a kiz account can log in directly. Users without a kiz account must register in the system with an e-mail address and be activated for collections. For publications with file upload made via OPARU, a publication agreement must be agreed to by the author/rights holder and Ulm University.
Fee / Charge
No fees or charges are levied for the service.
